Hello!

 

We are Marissa DeRose and Eleni Merekoulias, and we are the 2023-2024 Co-Presidents of the Schulich Charity Association at the Schulich School of Business in Toronto, Ontario.

 

The Schulich Charity Association is built on a simple, yet powerful foundation: inspiring hope, promoting unity, and fostering change. For over two decades, a group of passionate business students have joined forces with a goal of making a positive impact on the community. Through our various initiatives, we strive to be a force for good to benefit both local and global charities. During the 2022-23 academic year alone, we donated over $40,000, alongside countless hours, to worthy organizations such as Covenant House, Plan International, Canadian Cancer Society, and Make-A-Wish Foundation Toronto and Central Ontario.

Our most anticipated initiative of the year is Schulich Charity Fashion Week (SCFW), a week-long series of events comprised of a launch party, fashion industry panel, and the fashion show. Modelled by fellow university students, the show features an eclectic collection of designers, boutiques, and major fashion retailers. Since the event’s inception in 2014, all proceeds have benefitted Make-A-Wish Foundation Toronto and Central Ontario.

 

Over the years, SCFW has raised an astounding $147,000 to fund numerous children’s wishes. This feat could not have been accomplished without the unwavering support of our SCFW designers, sponsors, and panelists.

 

This year, we need your help.

As SCFW continues to become a staple in the Schulich community, we hope to further establish SCFW as a celebration of creativity, business, and fashion. With the success of last year’s SCFW, we have made more ambitious goals than ever before in order to make this year the most successful SCFW yet. For these reasons, we invite you to join us in changing lives for the better, while contributing to the fashion and business communities.
